February at Sunshine Senior Center: A Month Full of Heart, History, and Celebration

February may be the shortest month of the year, but it is easily one of the busiest and

most exciting months at the Sunshine Senior Center! This year, we are proud to offer a

full calendar of meaningful programs that celebrate Black History Month, love, community, and giving back.

Celebrating Black History Month

Throughout February, we invite you to join us for a series of special events honoring

African American history, culture, and storytelling:

Presented by the Thomas “Jet” Jackson Center Teen Program

February 13 | 10:30 a.m.

Experience history brought to life through dynamic presentations by local

teenagers.

February 19 | 1:00 p.m.

Enjoy this powerful and inspiring film that highlights decades of American history

through the eyes of a White House butler.

Presented by Wanda Stuart and the Sunshine Storytellers

February 25 | 10:45 a.m.

A moving storytelling presentation that reflects on heritage, resilience, and

shared experiences.

February 26 | 1:00 p.m.

Join us as we wrap up the month with a joyful celebration of culture, history, and

community.

Valentine’s Day Fun & Fundraising

Love is also in the air at Sunshine Senior Center! Celebrate Valentine’s Day with us at

our:

Banyon Room

Come enjoy music, treats, and great company.

While you’re there, help us support a great cause! We’ll be raising funds for the Senior

Fee Waiver Program by selling carnations for your sweetheart or for yourself.
