The Sunshine Senior Center invites you to participate in Fall Prevention Week, running
Monday, September 22 through Friday, September 12, 2025. This important week is
dedicated to promoting strength, balance, and confidence for older adults.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), one in four older
adults experiences a fall each year. While this statistic may sound concerning, it’s
important to know that falling is not a normal part of aging. With the right tools,
resources, and habits, falls can often be prevented.
During Fall Prevention Week, the Sunshine Senior Center will host a variety of special
programs designed to empower older adults with practical tips, easy strategies, and
engaging activities. These sessions will highlight ways to:
Improve balance and flexibility
Strengthen muscles for stability
Make small adjustments at home to reduce risks
Build confidence when moving throughout daily life
